Summer Cricket

It is Saturday early morning when i started writing this blog. I hate (in other words i can't) to wake up early in the morning particularly during the weekends. But for the last 4 months during summer here at Boston i used to wake up around 6.30 in the morning and that all because of the passion i have for playing Cricket during weekends. But as the leaves are turning to colors, when every one needs to wear a jacket while stepping out, you have no other choice other than leaving the cricket.

I mean the summer is over at Boston. This year i haven't went anywhere out or for a long trip during summer. Last year i went to Niagara Falls, New York, Philadelphia, six flags. This year i haven't traveled much for this summer, but i really enjoyed this summer playing cricket. I haven't played cricket for a very long time. I remember that i finally played cricket during my UG 2nd year. After that i never played cricket. It has been more than 9 years i haven't played cricket. but after a very long time i get a chance to play cricket this summer. Its very tough for me to get up early in the morning and particularly during the weekends so i had skipped the cricket initially. One fine day i went just like that and i really got interested and from that day on i never missed cricket. This is not actual cricket ground and with cricket ball. During weekends when it was hot summer, we guys at Granada highlands (my apartment) have been cooling our heels in the ground for playing cricket. We usually play cricket on Saturday and Sunday morning 7.30 to 10.30 a.m.

There are many forms of cricket in my country; you can find cricket each and everywhere. All you need is a bat and ball. Somehow everybody manage to get that. That is it. Now you rules are yours. i mean we customize the rules based on the place and people like *If you play inside house then you can draw wickets in the wall and one-pitch catch will be out. *If you play cricket on the streets then the road is the boundary area. *If you play cricket in your neighborhood and not too much space, then runs are only on the Offside. The list keeps growing like house, streets, parks, public places, beaches, school grounds, stadium starting from plastic balls to Cricket balls.

Here also we are playing one form of cricket with our customized rules and regulations inside our apartment. Rules are bit different from the regular cricket. For example if you bowl ball on the leg side it is wide and counted for a run, but on Offside it’ is not. Like that there are many different rules, but end of the day its great fun, exercise, joy and good time pass during weekends.

I usually get a chance to put some 1 or 2 over a match. Initially tried for Off-spin balls but that doesn't work out well in tennis ball so started putting very fast phase balls. In batting i used to play lot of singles in the Offside and some times 4's. I will never forget one match where our team has to chase 96 runs in 12 over. Myself and other guy get down for opening. Things don’t work out well and we are 25/2 in 5 over. After that myself and Praveen partnered and to my surprise we won the match with out losing further wickets. Even i didn't expect that. Most of the shots are played by Praveen. But it went really very well. For me it is the best match of the season to remember.

The one specific thing I want to mention about the summer cricket is the commitment of the Kanil who used to call each and every one and do the necessary arrangements for playing cricket. A big Hats off to this guy.

Amma....

Today i came across a very pleasant Tamil poem. It really feels good after reading the poem. Here it is.

For people who are not fortune enough to learn Tamil, here is the translation of the poem. It’s really tough and funny to convert the exact poem in English but i tried my best so that you will also have the same feel. Any ways my intention is not about translation, it has to reach everyone across languages. Here we go…

One Fine evening, there was a heavy rain and

i was totally drenched in rain by the time i reached home.

My brother scolded me saying

"You would have taken the umbrella while going out"

My sister scolded me saying

"You would have stopped, when the rain starts pouring"

My father scolded me saying

"If you fall in ill, then i need to pay for doctor "

My mother started drying my hair with her sari

and she scolded the “Rain

Recent Rahul Visit - TN

Every Tamilians just aware of recent visit of Rahul Gandhi who is the General Secretary of Indian National Congress and mainly popularized for his recent work in Uttar Pradesh for wining the LokSabha elections. I am writing this blog to discuss what his visit means to Tamil Nadu and the people.

He visited TamilNadu in the views of strengthening the congress party particularly the youth congress from the grassroots levels. So one thing is clear “The congress party is not strengthened inside TamilNadu even though they are supporting the minority government and from the grass root level the party is not functioning”. He also issued a statement saying that Congress will be soon playing a big role in TamilNadu. May be, people will turn up in large numbers to see his face, may be he may solve very few issues in touch with the central government, he may work out little bit at the party level. But will all these changes going to help the people of TamilNadu, undoubtedly it is a big "NO". First Rahul at the max he can visit TamilNadu for 3 - 10 days once in a year and that may solve some of the issues he heard from the people. That is it. i mean that is the only thing he can able to do it. i am not against congress party, i am not against Sonia Gandhi or Rahul, I greatly admire all the work done by Mr. Manmohan Singh who started thinking about Globalization and started his economic reforms for the country during 90's and even today if he is continuing his great work as PM and that won’t be possible with out the great support of Sonia Gandhi. I have highest respect for her when she threw away his PM seat and placing the right person for that post.

But congress party won't work out in TamilNadu and it is not because of Rahul and Sonia. As we all know the congress party status in TamilNadu and their internal groups. I exactly don't know the number of groups inside congress party of TamilNadu, but from the media i learnt that there are many groups. Some of the popular groups are Thangabalu, Elangovan, Vasan, Chidambaram, Vasanth Kumar, Sudharsanam, etc. These are just some of the known groups and there are many more unknown groups as well. All are fighting between themselves to keep their hold in their party and for the power and position. There is not one single supreme leader inside TamilNadu congress who can lead TamilNadu for better place. Let say even if they come in to power who will be the Chief Minister and for the power there will be big fight between them and later some point of time they will come to the compromise by dividing the power in terms of districts, ministers and tenders between them which ultimately ends up with nothing for the people of TamilNadu. We have seen a lot in the media and people should never think about congress inside TamilNadu unless and until they find one supreme leader who can tackle and handle all these groups and have at least okie vision for TamilNadu development.

Here is the other point. Rahul is telling youth, youth, youth. Rahul slogan of bringing the youth to the party may work out very well and will these youth people get any power to administrate or to change the face of TamilNadu or will Rahul able to help the youth to bring in to power. The answer is no, definitely the different groups inside congress won't allow them and the youth have to stay in the same place as they are now other than being the member of the congress party. His visit is to improve the party base inside TamilNadu which may be good for the party but at the end of the day it will end up with these groups which would be big issue for TamilNadu growth and for the people. I managed to find a leader in all the parties inside TamilNadu except congress party and that too for a very long time.

Fine let’s come to the fun part. Here is a funny part during Rahul press meet at chennai. Rahul redirects a question to Thangabalu and Thangabalu started his political speech, somehow rahul managed to stop that and get straight to the point. This is what i am speaking about the congress leadership in TamilNadu. Mr.Thangabalu is currently Congress President for state of TamilNadu and in the press meet he tries to convey something which is very hard to understand and finally he ends his statement saying that Congress will come to power but how, even Mr.Thangabalu doesn’t know.

TamilNadu e-Governance

For the people of TamilNadu

Today i explored the State of TamilNadu website. Wow! Superb!! Excellent!!! Good work!!!!. They have modified the site recently and updated with more information. The newly designed site nails down all the information in each and every corner of the state. It was really nice to see so much information available in the government site.

The site Provides information about Governor, Chief Minster, Council of ministers, Chief Justice, MP's, MLA’s, Chief Secretariats, District Collectors, all Department and District wise information. It also provides map information about entire TamilNadu like Districts, Revenue Divisions, Taluks, Blocks, Corporation & Municipalities, Town Panchayats, Revenue Villages and Panchayat Villages. It provides the day to day information about the Government Orders, Budget, Announcements, Census, RTI Manuals, etc. It also provides information about the schemes, Tenders, contacts and important links for the government.

The best part of the site, it hasn’t stopped by only providing information. It also provides e-services for the public where you can easily download all the government related forms (Community Certificate, Legal Heir Certificate, Income Certificate, Nativity Certificate and Residential Certificate) from the website. You can pay online for certain departments. Online booking for TamilNadu hotels, Employment exchange renewal can be done online, TamilNadu Electricity online payment and bill status for other districts, Revenue Department services and online payment for some districts regarding water tax, electricity, property and professional tax.

You can also register the grievances against the departments like District Administration, Corporation of Chennai, Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department, Police Department, Regional Transport Offices (RTO’s), TamilNadu Co-operative Milk Producers Federation (Aavin), TamilNadu Electricity Board (TNEB). Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board.

I welcome and appreciate the work of TamilNadu government especially the Stalin ministry is doing good well by putting various ideas and many projects in place. Definitely they not going to stop here and there are many more work to come in the coming months. Now the government has to make sure all the information they provided in the site has reached the public.

I guess you will be interested in exploring the site now. Check it out at http://www.tn.gov.in

Achchamundu Achchamundu Film review

For Tamil movie watchers

Today i get a chance to watch Achchamundu Achchamundu. I particularly want to see this movie for a very long time as this movie has been filmed in Canada film festival, Shanghai Screening and got some international rewards as well and spoke out very well before it got released, but after released in Tamil Nadu it failed to pick the box office too.

Fine speaking about the movie, the movie started by establishing the characters and connects very well speaking about their romantic life, daily routine, tamilians style of life in US. The movie centered the theme of Child Abuse when the John(Villan) wants to sexually abuse prasanna daughter and movie left out how they over come that.

There are lots of films released in India and i am not sure how many films have been centered with theme of child abuse. A big message which is uncomfortable to speak and worst part of this is, the crime rates of child abuse are more in India than any other part of the world after reviewing the statistics. The purpose and intent of the movie has to reach to whom it has to and definitely there needs to severe law and actions needs to passed to stop such crimes. The movie should not left just like that.

Cast and Crew:
I have watched most of the prasanna's movie and i adore him for the way he taking roles (especially negative roles in Anjathey) in movies and differ from other Tamil heroes. He has delivered the role perfectly. I have to greatly appreciate the acting of sneha in the movie as well especially in emotional scenes. She really did very well in the movie. The film has been produced, written and directed by Arun Vaidyanathan and big hats off to this guy for taking such a movie and delivering with a strong message in this commercial movie world. Definitely Karthik Raja music adds another plus for this movie. Live sound recording is superb.

Best scene:
As usual there has been many family fights between prasanna and sneha. In one scene they family went for party and prasanna will take some drinks in the party. They had a fight during that night and next day morning sneha will try to smile at prasanna and prasanna won't respond for that and move out. The emotional reaction from sneha after prasanna moved out is simply superb. Love to watch that scene.

McAffe JavaScript Error

I tried installing mcaffe software in my system. But the installation failed because of JavaScript issue. It prompt me with the message saying that "It is not able to install as JavaScript is working in the PC". I tried calling my customer care and it took almost an hour and half for them to figure out the issue and finally there is no solution from their side other than restarting the computer as many times as possible. Finally they asked to call up Microsoft customer service to solve the issue.

I did a quick Google search for the problem and i managed to find one link for the same. Here is the solution. Incase if you encounter such issue it would be helpful. Following are the steps. These steps are applicable for Vista only (i am not sure)

Step 1) Click on the start button(windows logo on Vista)
Step 2) Click on "Search" and "For Files and Folders" and then type "cmd" without the quotes, an icon will appear on the top part.
Step 3) Right click on that icon then select "Run as Administrator"
Step 4) Type "regsvr32 jscript.dll" without the quotes on the black window that will appear then press Enter
Step 5) A message will appear confirming that the process was successful. Restart your PC then try to download McAfee again.

Now try installing mcaffe. It will be successfully installed.

Seasons - View from my Balcony

Seasons result from the yearly revolution of the Earth around the Sun and I am writing this blog to show the feel of the different seasons here at BOSTON.

Winter - December, January and February. Jan and Feb will be very very cold and it will be snow, snow and snow only. It will be a good feel to see the first snow. When a soft snowfall flutters down the place, the place is full white.

Spring - March, April and May. But in these months also it will be very cold. As the weather turns it would be the very nice feel.

Summer - June, July and August, particularly July and August will be little hot. But this is the best time you can explore and roam any where you want.

Autumn - September, October, November is at its most beautiful in the fall. It will be very nice. As the leaves turn, Boston put on an unforgettable show to see every where.

I have felt all these different seasons and I writing this blog for you to feel the same. I am attaching some of the pictures which I have taken at different seasons from my balcony. By looking at these pictures you can also feel the same. Hope you will :-)

On the way....

ON THE WAY trip to white mountains, we drive all the way from Boston, MA to NewHampshire. During that trip, i was looking at the roads and the signs on the way. The infrastructure facilities is too good particularly the roads are too good. We are travelling on I-93 National highway road. There are two separate roads towards north and south with atleast 2-3 lanes. There will be separate exit to each and every small city and town in between. The directions and signs are superb, Gps is there. I am attaching some of the pictures of that roads which i have took on the way. It feels good to drive on these roads.

I was also thinking when my country will get all these infrastructure facilities from jammu to kanyakumari. I checked what the are current infrastructure road projects running. There are lot of development activities taken by the current government for infrastructure development and there are lot of phases involved in it. some of the project include 1) The Golden Quadrilateral, will convert the national highway connecting the four major metros to four lanes, a stretch of 5,846 km. 2) the North-South and East West corridor plans to link Srinagar to Kanyakumari and Silchar to Porbander, a stretch of 7,300 km. Government is working on these but very very slow. The first project is supposed to be over on 2004 and the second on 2009. but still both are ongoing projects. Sooner i want to see my country getting all infrastructure road facilities done. Lets c.

My Vote for Lok Sabha 2009

Hi All

Today is final phase of Lok Sabha election and today it is happening in TamilNadu. I fall under Dindugul constituency. Somehow i feel that i am not able to cast my vote and at the same time Government should implement a system where every one can cast the vote remotely (provided others should not take it for granted).

I am just thinking incase given a chance whom should i vote for. I start to work on this a little bit and that’s the idea of this bog.

First started analyzing the candidates and following are the main candidates from my constituency.
1) Muthuvel rajan from DMDK
2) Balasubramanian from ADMK
3) N.S.V.Chittan from congress
Try to analyze these guys but couldn't manage to find any information for the first 2 candidates. Anyways i know chittan as he was MP during my college days. Things stopped me starting analyzing about these candidates as these people are good for nothing for sure. What ever their Party leadership says they will do it. Definitely these people have worked very hard in getting the seats from their respective parties. All that stuff leads to my second thought.

Secondly i started thinking about the party leadership inside TamilNadu. First DMK party Mr.Karunanidhi is in alliance with congress and vidhuthalai chiruthaikal party. The party alliance is a big mess. A month before both vidhuthalai chiruthaikai party and congress are fighting against each other based on Srilankan issue. All of the sudden they formed an alliance. Congress is begging for PMK and that doesn't work and they started finding issues with them latterly. May be they will rejoin after the election. who knows. No one. i am sure. There is lot of corruption running inside DMK party. I like to cast my vote for Manmohan singh but in turn how it benefits tamilnadu. When started counting at things. Nothing has happened much. Sethu project is stopped. There are taking the srilankan issue for a long time and not able to find clear solution. I understand the complexity but they should find a way so that People won't lose their lives. Failed to provide National security like Mumbai blast, much bomb blast at many places. Lot of issues inside Tamilnadu Congress party and there are many gang stories. But appreciated for Nuclear weapon deal, friendly relationship with UN and other countries. For Economic strategies. so keep these points in to consideration lets think about casting the vote later.

Next is the ADMK party and the party chief is Jayalalitha. I like her personally for her admin power, decision making and control. But she doesn't use it in the way it has to be and all her plans are not up to the mark. May be it may benefit 25%. Not at a full swing. I have no plans of casting my vote to ADMK as it has no steady plans of whom they are going to support in central after election. Now they are running third front and of course that is going to break successfully after the election. They don't have any policy or agenda in common. The Third front is just a time being alliance and it is good for nothing. In case if they form a government definitely Indian Economy will come down, there won't be much foreign investments which reduce job opportunities. There are many things and nothing is going to work out with Third front. For the last one week Jayalalitha is telling that she will send army to srilanka if she comes to power which is never ever going to happen. You can't definitely do that. There are many international rules and regulation to be followed if you are the member of UN. If you do that, then unnecessarily you are invading enemies from the south. We are issues like china, nepal from the North, Bangladesh from the East and Pakistan from the west and this lady is trying to make one another issue from the south too. So definitely no vote for this candidate. Also i am not happy about alliance parties which i don't want to write. Every one knows about that. so NO VOTE for ADMK.

Next is the DMDK party. Of course i know very well about vijaykanth like others. The policies are not clear of what he is going to do. He makes many funny statements sometimes. Still he is not in the power. I am not sure that what he will do if he comes to power. But all politicians making the srilankan issue as the base for this election. This guy speaks about the issues inside Tamilnadu which is mandatory which i am looking at positive side. With out power he is involving himself in many social activities like creating job fairs and that impressed me a bit. Another thing is that he is not running any alliance with any parties like others for time being as political motto. Even he and every one know that if he join some alliance he will definitely get some 10 seats and which he can easily win, but he is not doing that. But this election is mainly meant for the Central government and he is not supporting any main parties there. so what is the idea of casting the vote.

Thirdly this election is all about forming Central government. The main thing which i am looking for is Security issues, Economic Strategies and job opportunities for all, Relation with Neighbor countries, Education for all, Introduce big projects for the welfare of the country, Reduce Corruption.

I want to cast my vote for BJP this time and give them a chance at the National level as their parties did well in some of the states. But i can not cast my vote to BJP as i don't know who is running for BJP in my constituency and even if they run they won't not even get the deposit. so no use.

Taking all these points in to consideration, Finally i will cast my VOTE TO DMDK in the view of providing new Energy to TamilNadu and to see how this guy differs from others in his office at work and hoping that he will take all the above mentioned points for the development of India and TamilNadu and providing support for forming the correct new government at Central. I know it is very tough for him to win but still i will provide my support by casting my vote.
