Visit to Washington DC

Couple of weeks before, i went to Washington DC. It was a very hot sunny day. Well its official trip, but once my official work is over i started roaming around the city as my flight is at night 11p.m back to Boston. I booked one of the city tours and roamed the entire city. All big old buildings named after some of the leaders. Most of them are Federal buildings and many museums. Don’t have enough time to visit all the museums and places. With very few years of history, US is maintaining around 19 museums only in Washington, DC. Wondering how many museums should be in India and where are they. Anyways here are some of the photos which I clicked while roaming the city.

The best thing about Washington DC is the Metro. It is second busiest rapid system in US and it is well planned, constructed and maintained. Well the first one in US is NewYork metro.

White House

Washington Monument

US Capitol

Treasury Department

Supreme Court

Lincoln Memorial

My Hometown under Google Maps

Google Map Maker is a cool tool service that let us to create features like roads, hospitals, companies, parks, schools and many more. Using this Google Map Maker tools, you can visually mark locations and add detailed information about these locations. You can get a good view using the satellite option. Once you have submitted the drawing it will take some time to review to contents and it will be moderated by other users. Some time later, this content may be published in Google Maps for others to see and use.

I have drawn my hometown Tirumangalam using this tool and some days back it has been published under Google Maps. There are lot of things which i haven't marked or drawn as i don't know the names of the streets and the exact point of the location. The next time when i visit my hometown i will collect all the information and publish it in detail.
